Yungblud had his first suicidal ideas at 13.
The 23-year-old musician credit his connection together with his followers for holding him constructive and says he has a codependent relationship with them.
He advised The Guardian newspaper: “I had a lot of friends but in a room full of people I would feel totally alone. I had my first suicidal thoughts at 13.
“If you already know Yungblud, the music is secondary, I do not give a s*** about hit data. All I care about is a tradition, just like the Stone Roses or Green Day had, the place I stand on stage and we come collectively as a result of we’re integral to one another’s lives. That’s what it is about, connecting to folks. If I do not do it, I die. If I do not do it I am going again to desirous to kill myself. I do know it is f*****-up that every one of us have this codependency, however that is the best way it’s. I’m similar to them in the best way they’re similar to me.”
Yungblud’s ‘Love Song’ was inspired by the domestic violence he witnessed between his parents when he was growing up, which he says has “skewed” his idea of love.
He said: “My mother and father used to battle lots and it was darkish. They’d battle after which be pals an hour later. So my concept of affection was so skewed.”
The star also revealed he and fellow musician Lewis Hamilton were once housemates and they used to drown their sorrows together over their lack of record deals.
He said: “Every week, me and Lewis can be like: ‘Did you get signed but?’; ‘No, you?’; ‘No.’ Every week. Just us entering into all types of hassle. I believe we stored Stella Artois in enterprise for these two years.”
