SAT says no bodily listening to until Oct 16 amid Covid-19

NEW DELHI: The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) has prolonged the suspension of bodily listening to until Oct 16 amid the coronavirus pandemic. Interim orders, if any, that are operational would stay in drive until the following date of listening to, based on a notification.

“… the judicial work of the Tribunal (physical hearing) shall remain suspended till 16th October, 2020,” SAT stated in a notification dated October, 1.

The instructions already issued and permitted sometimes shall be continued and all earlier orders shall be aligned with the current order and shall stay in drive as much as and inclusive of October 16.

However, it could hold functioning through video convention from October 5 from 11.30 am to 4.30 pm till additional orders, it stated.

Further, the workplace of the registry would perform from October 5 from 11 am to 4.30 pm on all working days, it added.

Besides, issues mounted for listening to between October 5 to October 16 can be rescheduled from December 18, 2020, to January 8, 2021.

Earlier, the tribunal had suspended judicial work until October 1 whereas persevering with to perform by way of video convention.

In case of maximum pressing issues, events might file instances by adopting normal working procedures launched by the tribunal earlier.
