The Third Committee of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday adopted the Ukraine-sponsored decision that condemned alleged human rights violations in Crimea. The decision was supported by 63 nations and 22 opposed it, ET has learnt. In all, 85 abstained on the event.

India, in addition to Russia, was a part of the block of 22 nations that opposed the decision. China too opposed the decision. Apart from the US, a number of European states backed the decision. However, plenty of nations from throughout continents abstained from voting.
