Copper costs rose by 0.16 per cent to Rs 595.65 per kg in futures commerce on Friday on a pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for January supply traded increased by 95 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 595.65 per kg in a enterprise turnover of three,870 tons.

Analysts attributed the rise in copper costs to elevated bets by individuals, pushed by a pick-up in spot demand.
