SHANGHAI: China will take “necessary measures” to safeguard the pursuits of its corporations after the New York Stock Exchange started delisting three Chinese telecom corporations accused of getting army ties, the nation’s commerce ministry stated on Saturday.
The NYSE stated on Thursday that it might start delisting China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom in response to a call by President Donald Trump to bar U.S. funding in corporations owned or managed by the Chinese army.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated in an announcement that the delisting was an abuse of nationwide safety and inconsistent with market guidelines.
