The Japanese two-wheeler maker had first launched Activa in India in 2001 when the scooter demand within the nation was on the wane.
“Activa has now created a new first as the only scooter brand in the history of Indian two-wheeler industry to achieve 2.5 crore customers-mark,” Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) mentioned in an announcement.
It took the Activa model 15 years to realize the preliminary 1-crore clients in 2015 and simply 5 years to cross 2.5 crore clients, it mentioned.
“Since 20 years, Activa has been at the forefront of technological innovation, sometimes even decades before it became the industry norm,” mentioned Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President and Chief Executive, HMSI.
The firm attributed the expansion in its Activa gross sales to technological developments that positioned the scooter as a “pioneer” within the two-wheeler trade.
